Its been a while since i last updated my blog...Well, its the end of the year and here i am penning down my thoughts and events before the year 2008 comes to an end...
Well, nothing much happens for this year except that last month, November, a major mishap happen to my wife, Amelia, which landed up in hospital for 3 weeks! what a close shave and she managed to recover well.
That day, I remembered it was on 13 Nov 2008. She went to my GP as she was not feeling well. She was then having fever, cough and running nose. The GP took her temperature and she was not having a fever. So, he just gave her some medicine. Well that night, 13 Nov, my wife was running a fever of 39.7 degrees. Wah Lau that was high!!! Her fever did not manage to subside after taking medication and she just slept through that night. The next day, she vomited and I was very worried. Called the ambulance and made our way to NUH.
During her one wk stay there, her temp was up and down and she was having severe headache and feeling giddy. Well, the doctors just prescribed with painkillers while testing for the virus that caused her to fall sick. I got to blame myself as I could not be there whole day to see her. I got a 3-year daughter with me and there is no caregiver. I was very sad and kept crying every nights as I worried about my wife's condition. Imagine, she would just shiver and shiver and there was no one with her. I was very very sad...on one hand, i had to look after my daughter and the other hand, i had to worry.........
Suddenly, about a wk later, she went into semi-coma and kept on sleeping. Her condition was real bad and I was shocked to see that. Crying and crying was all that i can do. That's my wife lying unconsciously on the bed. I was really worried for the worst case scenario. Shortly, she was sent to High Dependency Unit and she was still unconscious. That week, I had to bring my daughter to her holiday's program, which was signed up very early in Oct. Not to disappoint my daughter, I sent her there. During that period, i stayed at home and cried whenever I think of my wife. She was really unconscious. In the afternoon, her god ma took leave and helped to look after my daughter while I made my way to the hospital to see my wife. Visiting my wife was painful as she was not awake to see me. I talked to her while i was there and kept her company till the evenings, then I made my way home to cook for my daughter. That week was really tough as I had to struggle my emotions with my daughter who only knows that Mama is sick and in hospital. She does not know Mama is unconscious. I cried every night...
After a week of unconscious, my wife waked up. I quickly rushed to hospital and was very very happy to see her smile again. That moments was really nice and warmed my heart. I must owe my strong mind to my god ma, friends and colleagues who came and supported me. They offered their help one way or another!!! That's what true friends are for and that when I know who are really true friends.
Well, my wife has since recovered and she is back to her old self. So chubby and bubbly, her beautiful smile is always inked in my mind. Her tone and everything are always there. Mama, if you are reading this, I just want to say I love you.
So much so for my ordeal...
Xmas this year was a special celebration. We had a steamboat at my gd friend's house. His name is SF. It is house warming cum his daughter's 5th month celebration. As usual, our friend, SH proposed for an exchange gift of $19 as our friendship has been as long as 19 years. Everybody obliged.
It was indeed a good celebration and gathering as we managed to see two of our friends, JH and MH. We have not seen them for a few years....Took some photos and we truly enjoyed ourselves. Of course, my gd friend, SH, also enjoyed himself. Btw, tks to his wife who had prepared the food for us and also, their new born is so cute and bubbly...looks like SF..hee hee.
This year may not be smooth sailing but next year will be!! My family hereby wishes all readers of my blog a happy new year 2009 and may good health stays with you all! Cheers for a better new year. Hip Hip Hooray!!!!
